We invite you to take part in the seminar – "round table"

The Association of Environmental Partnership (NP "AsEP") and the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SPb CCI) will organize a round table seminar on August 26, 2021 (14:00-17:00, 46-48 Tchaikovsky Street): "Implementation of the principles of circular economy in retail chains and enterprises. Waste management – business models, technologies, exchange of experience". The program of the event in Russian can be viewed here.

The event is held within the framework of the project "Business in biotechnology and circular economy" of the cross-border cooperation Program "South-Eastern Finland – Russia 2014-2020", which is supported by the Administration of St. Petersburg. Finnish participants will participate online with a remote connection to the seminar hall.

The seminar will be attended by the heads and specialists of the Committee for Nature Management, Environmental Protection and Environmental Safety, the Nevsky Environmental Operator, the Center for Environmental Information for Enterprises AsEP (www.ecoprofi.info) and large retail chains.

It is planned to discuss a wide range of issues related to the treatment of MSW at retail enterprises, as well as exchange experience in implementing the mechanism of extended producer responsibility.

A meeting of the Environmental council under the Governor of St. Petersburg was held

On July 9, a meeting of the Environmental council under the Governor of St. Petersburg was held. The issues of maintaining the ecological well-being of water bodies on the territory of St. Petersburg were considered and ways to improve their health, as well as suggestions for organizing the "Neva Day".
It was decided to approve the idea of the "Neva Day" and prepare a draft proposal for its organization for the next meeting. In addition, it was decided to create a working group under the Environmental council "Waste management in St. Petersburg".

The fourth meeting of the group on interaction and cooperation of the Cata3Pult, Cool4City, BBC1, LALAPETE and CroBoDDIT projects was held

On June 29, the fourth meeting of the group on interaction and cooperation of five projects was held: Cata3Pult, Cool4City, BBC1, LALAPETE and CroBoDDIT of the Cross-Border Cooperation Program "South-Eastern Finland – Russia 2014-2020".

During the meeting, the upcoming events were discussed:

  • August 23-25, 2021 Food BioTech Conference at ITMO University in St. Petersburg (BBC1 project).
    Within the framework of this conference, a round table "Cooperation of science and business in the field of biotechnologies and closed economy projects South-Eastern Finland – Russia" will be held on August 23. The content of the event is currently being discussed and will be informed later on the BBC1 project website.

Participation of the Cool4City project in the first scientific and practical conference "Ecology and construction: from theory to practice"

On June 17, the first scientific and practical conference "Ecology and construction: from theory to practice" was held, organized by Soyuzpetrostroy and dedicated to problematic issues of environmental protection arising during industrial and civil construction, relevant both for the construction complex and for residents of St. Petersburg.

The conference was attended by representatives of the authorities and subordinate organizations of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, including: the Government of the Leningrad region, the Committee for Construction and Architecture of St. Petersburg and St. Petersburg GKU NIPC of the General Plan of St. Petersburg, the Construction Committee, SUE "Lenoblvodokanal" and SUE "Vodokanal of St. Petersburg", the Committee for Road Management of the Leningrad Region, St. Petersburg GKU "Directorate of Transport Construction". Reports of representatives of the construction complex and leading universities of St. Petersburg were heard.

The Russian partners of the Cool4City project-representatives of NP "AsEP" attended the event and also took part in the discussions "Separate garbage collection is a prerequisite for the construction and commissioning of facilities" and "Problems of recycling and recycling of construction waste". As a result, it was proposed to consider the need for regulatory regulation of construction waste management in St. Petersburg, as well as the development and introduction of requirements for container sites for the collection of MSW when designing real estate objects, taking into account the organization of separate collection.

St. Petersburg International Economic Forum

On June 2, a round table was held at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF'21) : "Water pollution by microplastics as an actual problem of our time".

The round table was moderated by the Director of the Association of Environmental Partnerships (NP "AsEP") Boris Krylov and Olga Senova, Chairman of the Board of the interregional environmental organization "Friends of the Baltic".

The reports and presentations at the round table were presented by Mikhail Strakhov, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Nature Management, Environmental Protection and Environmental Safety of St. Petersburg, Pavel Mikhailov, Director of the Nature Management Directorate of the State Unitary Enterprise Vodokanal of St. Petersburg, Shamil Pozdnyakov, Director of the Institute of Lake Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Alexandra Yershova, Associate Professor of the Russian State Hydrometeorological University, and other specialists.

The main ways of microplastics entering the water area of the region (Lake Ladoga – Gulf of Finland) were considered and its increasing accumulation in all media was noted.

The discussions highlighted not only the relevance of continuing research, but also the importance of reducing the use of single-use plastic, as well as the proper disposal of reusable plastic. It was noted that new strategies and technologies for handling plastic are needed.

The development of rational approaches in this direction can be facilitated by the developments of the projects of the cross-border cooperation Program "South-Eastern Finland – Russia 2014-2020": BBC1 "Business in biotechnology and circular economy" and Cool4City "Clean green city by smart waste management".

Final conference of the project "Innovative information technologies for analyzing the negative impact on the forests of the border region" (KS1309, InnoForestView)

On May 28, the final conference of the project "Innovative information technologies for analyzing the negative impact on the forests of the border region" (KS1309, InnoForestView), implemented within the framework of the cross – border cooperation Program "South-Eastern Finland – Russia" for the period 2014-2020, was held. The event was organized by the leading partner of the projects KS1309 InnoForestView and KS11173 Cool4City - St. Petersburg state unitary enterprise «St. Petersburg information and analytical center». The conference was held in a hybrid format.

Russian partners in the Cool4City project-representatives of NP "AsEP" attended the event in person. The project partners from the Finnish side attended the event online.

Representatives of the Governing body of the cross – border cooperation Program "South-Eastern Finland – Russia 2014-2020", the Leading Partner of the project, the Committee for Informatization and Communications, the state state institution "Directorate of Specially Protected Natural Territories of St. Petersburg", as well as the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg were heard welcoming speeches.

Reports on the results of the project were presented at the event, as well as a demonstration of the developed innovative information system for analyzing the state of forests in the border region.

As part of the summing up, an open meeting of the Supervisory board was held.
