KOSMOS LLC will take part in the Round table of the Interfax press center dedicated to the development of the waste management industry

On May 27-28, the IX Nevsky International Environmental Congress was held in the Tavrichesky Palace, where it was stated that the transition to a closed – loop economy is a priority task in Russia. Within the framework of SPIEF'21, a lot of attention was also paid to the issues of waste management and recycling.

ITMO Highpark JSC, the St. Petersburg Foundation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Businesses and the international consortium "St. Petersburg Cluster of Clean Technologies for the Urban Environment" signed an agreement on the pilot installation of vertical smart urban farms on the basis of ITMO Highpark within the framework of SPIEF'21. The project will be based on the principles of industrial symbiosis with the subsequent processing of organic waste.

How to process polymer and composite products? What technologies already exist and what does St. Petersburg's science and industry offer in this area?

These issues will be discussed at a round table in Interfax.

On Thursday, June 10, 2021, at 14:00, the Interfax press center in St. Petersburg will hold an online round table dedicated to the development of the waste management industry following the results of the IX Nevsky International Environmental Congress and the XXIV St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF'21), as well as on the eve of a meeting in the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation on the organization of the closed life cycle of polymer and composite products.

Participated in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum

KOSMOS LLC took part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF'21), which was held on June 2-5, 2021 in St. Petersburg.

As part of the SPIEF, on June 5, KOSMOS LLC took part in the sprint session "Creating an Industrial Symbiosis Ecosystem in Russia for the EcoNet Market", where a number of ideas were presented that have already been tested in St. Petersburg and can be scaled to other regions of Russia.

The sprint session was organized by the St. Petersburg Cluster of Clean Technologies for the Urban Environment and was held at the EXPOFORUM Exhibition Center (Pavilion G, exposition of the Government of St. Petersburg).

On June 5, on the Day of Environmental Protection, the forum hosted a marathon of events in support of the development of industrial symbiosis in Russia:

  • 10:00-12:00, Meeting of the authors of the project "Creating an Industrial Symbiosis Ecosystem in Russia through the development of industrial symbiosis Centers" with the authors of ideas from the TOP 100 ASI and Forum participants in order to attract the authors of project ideas to participate in the formation of an industrial symbiosis ecosystem in the regions. (Pavilion F, second floor, Partner meeting hall of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) F20);
  • 12:30-13:45, International sprint session "Creating an Industrial Symbiosis Ecosystem in Russia for the EcoNet market" (Pavilion G, St. Petersburg Government Exposition, Conference Room 1 Number of participants: 10);
  • 14: 00-14:15, Signing of a Trilateral Agreement between ITMO Highpark JSC, the St. Petersburg Business Development Fund and the St. Petersburg Cluster of Clean Technologies for the Urban Environment. The agreement will contribute to the development of a pilot platform for waste recycling in the Russian Federation and their secondary use using the latest world technologies (Pavilion G, exposition of the Government of St. Petersburg, Conference room 2).

Participated in the first meeting of the working group on the implementation of the Concept of the development of the territorial system of monitoring the state of the environment in the territory of St. Petersburg

On June 1, Koroleva E. B. took part in the first (organizational) meeting of the working group on the implementation of the Concept for the development of the territorial system for monitoring the state of the environment in the territory of St. Petersburg for the period up to 2030, established under the environmental Council under the Governor of St. Petersburg.

Organizational issues were considered, the head and executive secretary of the working group were appointed, and the regulations on the working group were approved. The article presents information on the state environmental expertise of the Concept of the development of the territorial system of environmental monitoring in the territory of St. Petersburg for the period up to 2030, as well as on the identification of the necessary measures for inclusion in the Roadmap for 2022.

Final conference of the project "Innovative information technologies for analyzing the negative impact on the forests of the border region" (KS1309, InnoForestView)

On May 28, the final conference of the project "Innovative information technologies for analyzing the negative impact on the forests of the border region" (KS1309, InnoForestView) was held. The conference was held in a hybrid format. Representatives of KOSMOS LLC attended the event in person. Cata3Pult project partners from the Finnish side attended the event via ZOOM.

Representatives of the Governing body of the cross – border cooperation Program "South-Eastern Finland – Russia 2014-2020", the Leading Partner of the project, the Committee for Informatization and Communications, the state state institution "Directorate of Specially Protected Natural Territories of St. Petersburg", as well as the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg were heard welcoming speeches.

The event presented an overview of the project results and the main results achieved by the project. Handouts prepared within the framework of the project were received.

Representatives of KOSMOS LLC distributed training manuals "Waste management: Russian and Finnish experience" in order to disseminate information about the Cata3Pult project.

The webinar "Waste management: Russian and Finnish experience" was held

On May 25, a training webinar "Waste management: Russian and Finnish experience" was held. The online event was organized by KOSMOS LLC as part of the Cata3Pult project. Moderator - Koroleva E. B.

A representative of the Governing body of the "South-Eastern Finland – Russia 2014-2020" Program delivered a welcoming speech. The seminar was also welcomed by representatives of the Committee for Nature Management, Environmental Protection and Environmental Safety and the Department of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources in the Leningrad Region.

Reports of Russian and Finnish experts in the field of waste management were presented. The total number of participants was 51 people. The webinar also presented the released training manual "Waste management: Russian and Finnish experience".

According to the results of the webinar, a large number of requests were received to send presentations and a recording of the webinar, as well as thanks from the audience for an interesting and useful webinar.

We have prepared and published a training manual "Waste management: Russian and Finnish experience"

Within the framework of the project Cata3Pult (cross – border cooperation Program "South-Eastern Finland - Russia 2014-2020"), KOSMOS LLC has prepared and published a training manual "Waste management: Russian and Finnish experience".

The training manual is compiled by a team of Russian and Finnish experts, and contains information that was prepared during the implementation of activities under the Cata3Pult project, as well as the EduEnvi project, during joint Russian-Finnish webinars and discussion of their results.

The textbook is intended for specialists of enterprises, teachers, students and postgraduates of universities specializing in the field of waste management.
