The third meeting of the group on interaction and cooperation of Cata3Pult, Cool4City, BBC1, LALAPETE and CroBoDDIT projects was held

On May 18, the third meeting of the group on interaction and cooperation of five projects: Cata3Pult, Cool4City, BBC1, LALAPETE and CroBoDDIT of the Cross – border Cooperation Program "South-Eastern Finland – Russia 2014-2020" was held.

During the meeting, the signing of the cooperation agreement and upcoming events were discussed:

  • May 19-22, 2021 – "Navigator of the Innovator. GreenTech".

Training webinar "Waste management: Russian and Finnish experience"

On May 25, 2021, from 10:00 to 13:00 (Moscow time), a training webinar "Waste management: Russian and Finnish experience" will be held. Representatives of the Management Committee of the Cross – Border Cooperation Program "South-Eastern – Finland Russia 2014-2020", the leader-partner of the project "Cata3Pult" – the Administration of the city of Lappeenranta and state control bodies will make a welcoming speech.

Seminar "Forest pollution as an environmental problem in the border area of Russia and Finland"

On May 12, we took part in the online seminar "Forest pollution as an environmental problem in the border area of Russia and Finland". The seminar was held within the framework of the project "Innovative information technologies for analyzing the negative impact on the forests of the border region" – InnoForestView KS1309. The project was implemented under the cross-border cooperation program "South-Eastern Finland – Russia 2014-2020".

22nd meeting of project partners

On April 29, the 22nd meeting of the project partners took place. The participants presented the project activities for the last month, held a consultation on indicators for summing up the results of the second year of the project and writing a report.

Smart and green mobility expert group meeting

On April 29, a meeting of the expert group on smart and green mobility was held. The organizer of the event is the leader partner of the Cata3Pult project - the city of LAPPEENRANTA. Moderated by Terhi Jantunen. The number of participants is 12 people.

During the meeting, reports were presented:

  • directorate for the development of the transport system of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region;
  • center for economic development, transport and environment of Finland;
  • cities of Imatra;
  • Proxion.

After the presentation of the reports, there was a discussion of bike projects and railway projects in Finland, as well as the current situation in Russia in this area.

Meeting of the expert group on the circular economy of the webinar "Textile recycling - business in mind"

On April 27, a meeting of experts of the circular economy was held. The topic of the webinar is "Textile recycling - business in mind". The event was attended by 16 participants. Reports were presented on the activities of clothing factories, the production of which is based on the use of secondary resources, such as "99recycle" and FabRevizion (the Russian branch of the Finnish company SoEnergy). These companies have shown interest in each other's activities, which can be considered as a business case.

Representatives of the LALAPETE and SHOPS2HUBS projects also took part with the topics "New names in fashion 2021" and "New enterprises for processing materials".

Baltic Circular Economy Forum. Panel discussion and forecast session "NTI ECONET track and industrial symbiosis ecosystems in Russia: a step towards a circular economy?"

On April 22, the Baltic Circular Economy Forum was held - the first and only congress and exhibition event in Russia dedicated to the closed-loop economy, sustainable development, as well as the introduction of "green" technologies in small and medium-sized businesses.

The focus of the event in 2021 was on the three key segments that generate the most consumer waste, as well as create opportunities for the introduction of "breakthrough" business models:

  • Green Energy & Home – "green energy" and "smart home";
  • HoReCa & MICE – hospitality and events sector;
  • Smart & Green Transport – "smart" and "green" transport.

At the Panel discussion and forecast session "NTI ECONET Track and industrial symbiosis ecosystems in Russia: step towards a circular economy?" (Russia hall 12:00-13:45) invited speakers and representatives spoke:
Agency for Strategic Initiatives, ICSEI "Leontief Center" / Russian National Sub-Committee of the Program "INTERREG. Baltic Sea Region", Center for Integration Studies / Research Directorate / Eurasian Development Bank, Faculty of Biotechnology and Low-Temperature Systems, ITMO University, Tairmen Group, KOSMOS LLC - Cata3Pult project, projects: StartUp Connect, BIS.

The discussion was moderated by Nikolai V. Pitirimov (Chairman of the Board of Directors of the international consortium "St. Petersburg Cluster of Clean Technologies for the Urban Environment").

Koroleva Evgenia Borisovna (member of the Environmental Council under the Governor of St. Petersburg, Cata3Pult project Manager) presented the Cata3Pult project and spoke about the activities under the project.
