On April 22, the Baltic Circular Economy Forum was held - the first and only congress and exhibition event in Russia dedicated to the closed-loop economy, sustainable development, as well as the introduction of "green" technologies in small and medium-sized businesses.
The focus of the event in 2021 was on the three key segments that generate the most consumer waste, as well as create opportunities for the introduction of "breakthrough" business models:
- Green Energy & Home – "green energy" and "smart home";
- HoReCa & MICE – hospitality and events sector;
- Smart & Green Transport – "smart" and "green" transport.
At the Panel discussion and forecast session "NTI ECONET Track and industrial symbiosis ecosystems in Russia: step towards a circular economy?" (Russia hall 12:00-13:45) invited speakers and representatives spoke:
Agency for Strategic Initiatives, ICSEI "Leontief Center" / Russian National Sub-Committee of the Program "INTERREG. Baltic Sea Region", Center for Integration Studies / Research Directorate / Eurasian Development Bank, Faculty of Biotechnology and Low-Temperature Systems, ITMO University, Tairmen Group, KOSMOS LLC - Cata3Pult project, projects: StartUp Connect, BIS.
The discussion was moderated by Nikolai V. Pitirimov (Chairman of the Board of Directors of the international consortium "St. Petersburg Cluster of Clean Technologies for the Urban Environment").
Koroleva Evgenia Borisovna (member of the Environmental Council under the Governor of St. Petersburg, Cata3Pult project Manager) presented the Cata3Pult project and spoke about the activities under the project.
