Baltic Circular Economy Forum. Plenary session "Circular economy in Russia: from plans to actions?"
On April 22, the Baltic Circular Economy Forum was held - the first and only congress and exhibition event in Russia dedicated to the closed-loop economy, sustainable development, as well as the introduction of "green" technologies in small and medium-sized businesses.
The focus of the event in 2021 was on the three key segments that generate the most consumer waste, as well as create opportunities for the introduction of "breakthrough" business models:
- Green Energy & Home – "green energy" and "smart home";
- HoReCa & MICE – hospitality and events sector;
- Smart & Green Transport – "smart" and "green" transport.
At the Plenary session "Circular economy in Russia: from plans to actions?" (Russia hall 10:00-11:45) invited speakers and representatives spoke: The Committee for Industrial Policy, Innovation and Trade of St. Petersburg, the Committee for Economic Development and Investment, the EU Government in the Russian Federation (energy and climate), the Committee for Environmental Management, Environmental Protection and Environmental Safety, the Association of European Businesses, Sitra (Finland), the European Waste Management Association (Belgium), the Board of Directors of the international consortium "St. Petersburg Cluster of Clean Technologies for the Urban Environment", as well as the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Krylov Boris Stanislavovich (member of the Environmental Council under the Governor of St. Petersburg, Chairman – Committee on Nature Management and Ecology – St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry) made comments on the stated topic.
