Invitation to the BBC1 international project event

BBC1 ("Business in biotechnology and circular economy") - the project organizes a hybrid event focused on EcoSairila and opens the Digital EcoSairila showroom in Mikkeli.

We invite everyone to hear about the EcoSairila Technopark, the EcoSairila digital exhibition hall, the experience of the project partners and views on the circular economy, as well as to take part in an interactive discussion.

Meeting of the working group on waste management in St. Petersburg

On November 19, the Committee on Nature Management, Environmental Protection and Environmental Safety held a meeting of the working group on waste management in St. Petersburg.

Ekaterina Gorshkova, General Director of Nevsky Ecological Operator JSC, made a report on the work of the regional operator for solid municipal waste (SMW) management.

The report on the topic: "Current models of separate accumulation of municipal solid waste in St. Petersburg" was made by the Chairman of the Board of the Association in the field of ecology and environmental protection "Separate Collection" Tatiana Nagorskaya.

The practical aspects of collecting, transporting, processing and disposing of separately accumulated SMW were highlighted by Anna Salamatova, General Director of LLC "PKF "PETRO-VAST".

The meeting and discussion of a wide range of practical issues of waste management on the territory of St. Petersburg were actively attended by representatives of the projects "Cata3Pult", "Cool4City", "BBC1" – Evgenia Koroleva and Julia Gladstein (LLC "Kosmos"); Boris Krylov and Julia Antipova (NP "AsEP").

Round table "Specially protected natural territories of the Leningrad Region: environmental, economic, social and cultural aspects, including carbon balance" (SustainPro project)

On November 18, within the framework of the Eighth All-Russian Forum "Meeting of the Working group of IT Managers of the Regions of the Russian Federation "IT Dialogue 2021" (organized by the Government of St. Petersburg with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation), a round table "Specially protected natural territories of the Leningrad Region: environmental, economic, social and cultural aspects, including carbon balance" of the project "Sustainable development of protected areas: biodiversity, heritage conservation and recreational use" was held, implemented within the framework of the cross-border cooperation Program "South-East Finland – Russia 2014-2020".

Representatives of LLC "KOSMOS" and NP "AsEP" attended the round table in person. Reports were presented on the conservation of biodiversity in specially protected natural territories of the Leningrad Region (leading researcher of the Herbarium of Higher Plants, V.L. Botanic Institute Komarova of the Russian Academy of Sciences), director of the Leningrad Regional State-owned Institution "Directorate of Specially Protected Natural Territories of the Leningrad Region" presented a plan for the development of a network of specially protected natural territories in the Leningrad Region, associate professor of the Botany Department of the Biological Faculty of St. Petersburg State University presented a presentation "Biologically valuable forests: methodological approaches", and the head of the Department of Forest Taxation told about the role of natural territories in maintaining the carbon balance, Forest Management and Geoinformation Systems Institute of Forest and Nature Management, St. Petersburg State Forestry University named after S.M. Kirov, Head of the Department of Country Studies and International Tourism of the Institute of Earth Sciences of St. Petersburg State University presented data on the optimization of natural recreation in specially protected natural areas of the Leningrad region, the final report was a specialist in environmental and social issues in Russia project company Nord Stream 2 AG "Social and cultural programs in the Kurgalsky Reserve".

Round table "Rational waste management to ensure sustainable development of the region" was held (Cool4City project)

On November 18, within the framework of the Eighth All-Russian Forum "Meeting of the working group of IT Managers of the regions of the Russian Federation "IT Dialogue 2021" (organized by the Government of St. Petersburg with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation), a round table "Rational waste management to ensure sustainable development of the region" was held.

A representative of the Committee on Environmental Management, Environmental Protection and Environmental Safety made a welcoming speech; a report was made by representatives of the Cool4City project on operational and business models of MSW management in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region; Finnish partners of the Cool4City project also presented an overview of operational and business models of waste management in Finland; brief information was provided about the Cata3Pult project and Guidelines for separate waste Collection for residents of St. Petersburg; the director of the Center for Spatial Research "Geointellect" spoke about waste sorting using geoanalytics; the head of the environmental movement "Separate Collection" made a report on garbage reform and separate waste collection in St. Petersburg, telling about practical experience; the chairman of the Subcommittee on Waste and Resource Conservation of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of St. Petersburg told about the development of resource conservation in waste management.; The representative of LUKOIL-Severo-Zapadnefteprodukt LLC spoke about the problems in the implementation of rational waste management in the activities of the oil product supply enterprise; the final report was presented by the Interregional Public Organization "Environmental Union" on improving the waste management system.

Round table of the SustainPro international project

On November 18, 2021, within the framework of the Eighth All-Russian Forum "Meeting of the Working Group of IT Managers of the Regions of the Russian Federation "IT Dialogue 2021" (organized by the Government of St. Petersburg with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation), a round table "Specially protected natural territories of the Leningrad Region: environmental, economic, social and cultural aspects, including carbon balance" of the project "Sustainable development of protected areas: biodiversity, heritage conservation and recreational use" will be held, implemented within the framework of the cross-border cooperation Program "South-East Finland – Russia 2014-2020".

The round table will discuss issues of biodiversity conservation in specially protected natural territories of the Leningrad region, the development plan for the network of specially protected natural territories of the Leningrad Region, methodological approaches to the assessment of biologically valuable forests, as well as the role of natural territories in maintaining the carbon balance. The event will be held on November 18 from 16:30 to 18:00 in a hybrid format.

Round table of the Cool4City international project

On November 18, 2021, within the framework of the Eighth All-Russian Forum "Meeting of the working group of IT managers of the regions of the Russian Federation "IT Dialogue 2021" (organized by the Government of St. Petersburg with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation), an event in the format of a round table "Rational waste management to ensure sustainable development of the region" will take place.

The round table will discuss the issues of solid municipal waste management in Russia and Finland, past and future changes, as well as the possibilities of rational waste management in the border region for a sustainable future. It is also planned to participate Finnish colleagues implementing the international project "Clean green city by smart waste management" (KS11173, Cool4City) under the Program of cross-border cooperation "South-East Finland – Russia 2014-2020".
